Writing has always been an integral part of the sciences, but connecting science instruction with writing instruction is an ongoing challenge in both middle- and high schools. This session will explore how "scientific storytelling" can help teachers reinforce course content, integrate more writing into their classrooms, engage students in collaborative learning, all while having more fun!. Participants will dig into a hands-on demonstration of the digestion process and use narrative techniques to solidify their understanding of the vocabulary and processes of digestion. They will leave with practical strategies for using "scientific storytelling" in their classrooms.
